Mrs. Edith Stewart, 90, Villa Park Care Center, died Tuesday evening at the center. Services will be Friday at 1:30 P.M. in the Bruce Memorial Chaple with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Surivors include her daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Babian, Athens, Tenn., Mrs. Raymond (Elsie) Swanson, Callender, Mrs. Cecil (Lois) Dorothy, Fort Dodge, Mrs Paul (Fern) Whannell, Boone, Gladys Stewart and Mrs. Edward (Cristelle) Essig, both of Fort Dodge, Mrs. Larry (Marlene) Garman, Ceder Rapids; sons Donald, Gowrie, Ernest, Fort Dodge, and Earl, New Hampton; 40 grandchildern; 38 great-grandchildern. Edith B. Blake was born in Buchanan County and attended schools there. She attended Iowa State Teachers Collage, Ceder Falls, then taught country schools in the Storm Lake area. In 1917, she married Albert Stewart in Superior and the couple farmed in the Somers and Callender until 1958 when they retired and moved to Fort Dodge. Her husband died in 1968. She entered the Villa Park Care Center in 1984.
