AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Betty Jean Fulmer, age 75, entered into rest July 12, 2010. She was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta and graduate of the Academy of Richmond County; having been in the first female graduating class. Mrs. Fulmer was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She had a variety of interests. She was an accomplished artist who fancied painting with oils. She retired after 20 years from the Augusta Chronicle as a composing artist. She also enjoyed computer graphics, shopping, bowling, socializing with family and friends, and she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of Day Spring Church and loved to attend Sunday bible study with Sheena and friends. Mrs. Fulmer will be remembered for her wit and great sense of humor, and let us not forget that expressive face of hers that made us all laugh. A special thanks to Stevens Park Health & Rehabilitation and to Trinity Hospice for taking good care of her. Also, to Mrs. Fulmer's niece, Debbie Glisson, thank you for your steadfast love and devotion.

Mrs. Fulmer was preceded in death by her mother, Maxie O. Richards, her father, Henry E. Richards, a brother, Clifford E. Richards, two sons, Michal L. Fulmer, and Daniel L. Fulmer (Kelly), and a granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Fulmer. Mrs. Fulmer is survived by her husband, Morris L. Fulmer, a son, Gregory L, Fulmer (Joyce), two daughters, Brenda A. Nickel, (David Sr), and Nancy S. Fulmer, and two grand children, David L. Nickel, Jr., and Elaina R. Nickel, whom she loved dearly. She also is survived by three sisters, Catherine R. Collins, Janie R. Maddox, Billie R. Sikes, and scores of nieces and nephews, and cousins, and lastly, a cat that she loved so much, "Lil Ugly". Pall Bearers will be Greg L. Fulmer, David L, Nickel Sr, David L. Nickel Jr., Russel K. Ott, Thomas N. Youmans, and Chris L. Glisson. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm., Friday, July 16th, 2010 in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Rich Bowen officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
