They lived in Haskell, TX, McLean, TX, Paris, AR, and then moved to Pima, Safford, Clifton & Apache Junction, AZ. In their younger years they also lived in Los Angeles, CA and Clovis, NM.
He registered for the draft in 1917, in Haskell County, TX, along with his brother Henry Spinks.

His parents preceded him in death along with one son Richard (Elmer) Spinks, died June 12, 1951, an infant daughter Lillian Lucile, died in 1922, and one granddaughter Janet Carol Bridges, died April 16, 1951.
Mr Spinks died in Mesa, AZ after a three week illness. Funeral services were held in Mesa at 2:00 pm, Monday, Sept 27, 1971, with burial in Mesa Cemetery. At a later date he was moved to Graham Cemetery in Safford, AZ, to be next to his wife Lillian in the family plots.
