John Wesley Cundith, age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 19, 2017. John was born April 23, 1927 in Sterling, Kansas to John and Eula Cundith. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carolyn (Miller) Cundith, daughter Susan Clifton and her husband, Butch of Tulsa, OK and daughter Julie Robinson of Oklahoma City, OK, his grandchildren: Ryan Clifton and his wife, Fernanda, Ashley Cavenah Snyder, Chris Robinson and his wife, Joanna, Lindsay Clifton Wileman and her husband, Jared, Allison Cavenah Greco and her husband, Tony and Jillian Robinson. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Maylee Clifton, Noah Clifton, Anna Snyder, Truman Snyder, Grant Robinson, Kate Robinson, Conner Greco, Colin Greco, Parker Wileman, Presley Wileman and Paige Wileman and his sisters: Anna Mae Alexander, Joyce Deegan, Betty Willson, Flora Pearson and Barbara Engelland as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jane Cavenah, brothers Tom Cundith, Harry Cundith, Richard Cundith, Horace Cundith and Robert Cundith and sister Judy Fulton. John served in World War II as a paratrooper. He graduated from Emporia State University and then married Carolyn on June 10, 1951. His incredibly strong work ethic led him to start his own oil field equipment business until his retirement at the age of 88. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, longtime member of Indian Springs Country Club. He loved spending time with his immediate and extended family, drinking wine and sharing his adventures. Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Floral Haven Funeral Home, Broken Arrow, OK. In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to Studio 222 after school program, St. Luke’s UMC, 222 NW 15th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73103 or to the charity of your choice.
