Mildred and Mary (Mayo) Hall were best friends.

Cause of Death: Cancer

Things were always happening to Mildred! One time she was at the Good Will in Sherman (her favorite store) and she sat down to try on a pair of shoes. She went to tie the shoes and all of the sudden something hit her on the back. Before she knew it she was laying spread eagled on the ground and matress' were falling on top of her one by one. Everyone in the store was looking at her... to this day I'm not sure if she ended up buying the shoes or not.

Mildred went to this old Gas Station one time with her daughter, Sherry, and new grand-daughter, Pam. Sherry was in the passenger seat and Mildred was driving. Mildred pulled into the gas station and noticed it was taking them a long time to come put gas in her tank. Without hesitation she started honking. Sherry slumped down in the seat... "It's a barber shop Momma!" she said. "Oh!" Mildred said and drove off. Sherry said that all the men in the barber shop turned in their chairs and just stared at them!

Mildred, Sherry, & Mildred's mother-in-law, Bessie were all out driving one day. They stopped at a red light behind a truck that had a man and a dog in it, and that was all. Bessie say's, "I wonder if that's one of them seeing eye dog's?" "I hope not!" Mildred answers her.

Feeding the Hogs:
When Mildred was a little girl & her mother was pregnant with the twins, Loy and Troy, she went outside to help her mother feed the hogs. Mildred's mother, Lois, was a small woman and she was pregnant with twins, so she was bigger than usual. Mildred was afraid of the hogs, and when hogs see or smell food they get excited and can get a little aggressive. So her mother handed her a stick and told her that she was going to feed the hogs and that if they started to act up to hit them with the stick. Well, her mother went in the pen to feed them and evidently one acted up. Mildred got so scared that she swung the stick and accidentally hit her mother in the head with the stick.
A little while later they were sitting on the porch, her mother was still trying to get rid of the pain in her head. By this time Mildred was a little scared, and then her mother looked up over at her and said "You hit the wrong hog!"

The day Mildred was buried set the record high temperature at somewhere around 95 degrees... this was in February.
Mildred was 70 years, 9 months and 27 days old when she died.
