2019 obituary. BIDDEFORD- Abbie M. Martin, born in Standish, Maine, on September 30, 1929, closed her eyes to this challenging world on January 13, 2019.
Abbie was known to her five children as “Mama.” Her first born, Steven Seymore predeceased her in 2016, of whom she nicknamed “Buttercup.” Surviving children include... Abbie is leaving behind a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was married to Wilfred Martin (Butch) for 42 years. Abbie was a caring, giving, and dedicated wife; she gave her heart to him. Abbie kept her fond memories of growing up on “The Farm” with her siblings, Florence, Janice, Eleanor, Linda, Elaine, Avis, and two brothers, Leon and Philip. This contributed to the lady she became, she was known to all who met her as “The Strong Lady.” Her laughter was so loud it was silent. Abbie kept her smile and wit engaged which will remain as an inheritance to her family. The family would like to express their appreciation for the care given from Hospice, and to the Gosnell House, especially to those who made Abbie comfortable. Family is welcome to attend a graveside service at Brooklawn Memorial Park.
