Lillian Spinks 76, a former resident of Haskell, TX passed away in a Safford, AZ hospital at 9:00 pm, Thursday, February 24, 1977, following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Spinks was born to Geo Washington Henshaw & Calcadonia (Hartline) Henshaw on May 26, 1900 in Bell County, TX. She came to Haskell County, TX, in 1905 traveling by covered wagon.

At the age of sixteen she married Richard Spinks on August 27, 1916, in Haskell, TX, in front of County Judge AJ Smith. They lived awhile in Haskell, and then other places such as McLean, TX, Los Angeles, CA, Paris, AR, Clovis, NM, and then moved to Pima, Safford, Clifton & Apache Junction, AZ.

The 1920 Census: Living next door to G. W. Henshaw, in Wheeler County, TX, was the family of daughter Lillian Spinks. Spinks, William R., head-of-household, age 28, born in Texas; father born in Texas; mother born in Tennessee; rented home; farmer.

The 1930 census (Apr 21 1930), Haskell County, Texas: Lillian and family were again shown in this census.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 28, with burial in Graham County Cemetery in Safford, AZ.

Those preceding her in death were her husband Richard Spinks, who passed away September 25, 1971.
Son, Elmer Spinks died June 12, 1951
Daughter, Juanita Bridges Sallis died June 10, 1972
Daughter, Lillian Lucile died when still an infant in 1922 and one granddaughter Janet Carol Bridges, April 16, 1952.

Survivors include three sons:
Bill of Tucson, AZ
Clifford of Winslow, AZ
Sgt Jerry Spinks of the US Army in Germany

Three daughters:
1-Myrtis (Carr) Walker of Phoenix, AZ
2-Wanda Sanders of Duncan, AZ
3-Dana (Cook) Schwab of Mesa, AZ
She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Georgia Moore
Mrs Willie Rose
Mrs Bessie Piland all of Haskell
Mrs Callie Phillips Scheets of Amarillo.

Sister, Mrs Mary Scott died October 29, 1971 in Haskell, TX
Sister, Maggie Lee Henshaw died August 26, 1892 at the age of three in Bell Co, TX.

One brother, Jms Washington Henshaw died December 17, 1953 in Haskell, TX.

Lillian and family lived many years in Texas & Arizona, also lived at times in Arkansas, California & once in New Mexico.
