P. Jean Christenson, age 77, Clark, formerly of the Watertown and Brookings communities, died in the Golden Living Center at Clark on Monday evening, August 27, 2007. She was the widow of Burton Christenson.

Pearl Jean Christenson was born on December 18, 1929 at Bradley, the daughter of Ernest and Pearl (Darling) Hansen. She graduated from Bradley High School.

She was united in marriage to Burton L. Christenson and to this union five sons were born, Lee, Bob, Dale, John and David.

They lived in Clark most of their years where she worked at the Clark High School as the secretary. She was very involved with her all of her sons' activities; cub scouting, Sunday school and sports. She enjoyed her friends, bridge club and most of all her flowers. The couple moved to Watertown and lived for some time. Burton died in 1990. Jean then moved to Brookings where she was employed at Wal-Mart. Recently she had been living in the Fay Wookey Memorial Assisted Living Center at Clark until entering the Golden Living Center at Clark in March of 2007.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her sons, Burton Lien "Lee" Christenson and wife Rose of Watertown, Robert A. Christenson and wife KrisAnne of Sioux Falls, Dale E. Christenson and wife Ann of Blaire, NE, John L. Christenson and wife Amy and David J. Christenson all of Watertown; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She also leaves sister-in-laws, Lois Hansen of Browns Valley, Betti Hansen, Doris Geise both of Clark and Clarice Wales and husband Marvin of Cincinnati, OH.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, brothers, Bob and Jack and a brother-in-law, Elwin Geise.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 1, 2007 in the St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will be private and at a later date in the Clark Center Lutheran Cemetery.
