Nora Irene Bokhart, age 95 years, died Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at the Bay Medical Care Facility. A
loving mother, grand-mother and great grand-mother, she was born to the late Alex and Mary Badour on August 24, 1912 in Bay City, Michigan. On November 20, 1934 she married Raymond Bokhart and he preceded her in death on March 3, 1992. She was a retired farmer. Nora was a member of St. John Church in Essexville and was a life member of the Altar Society. She also belonged to the League of Catholic Women and Men and the Legend of Mary. Nora was a willing volunteer with the Council on Aging's "Wonderful Times" news-letter. She belonged to the Friendship Club, was an active leader with the PTA, and a 4-H Club leader for 17 years.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James and Betty Bokhart of Bay City and daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Leslie Tacey of Essexville. She had 3 grandchildren, Sherry (Dan) Whitney of Grayling, Connie (Larry) Zalucha of Cadillac, and Jim (Lena) Bokhart of Grayling. She had 7 great-grandchildren, Kevin, Katie, and Krista Whitney, Ashley and Kyle Zalucha, and Kayla and Cody Bokhart. Nora is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, George and Fred Badour, and 2 sisters, Anna Tacey and Mayme Bokhart.
