Albert Johnson, colored, 53, was found dead at his home on Wisner street, Sunday morning, having expired some time during the night or early in the morning. He retired as usual Saturday night and when his wife came downstairs about 5:30 o’clock Sunday morning, she found his lifeless body on a cot where he slept. Sheriff Charles W. Crum, magistrate Sherman P. Bowers, and Dr. Charles S. Brooks were summoned. Dr. Brooks stated that he had died from natural causes. Magistrate Bowers, acting coroner, deemed an inquest unnecessary.
The deceased was well-known and industrious, and attended a number of furnaces at private homes. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ella Marie Johnson, and six children, Mrs. Dell Stinson, Mrs. Jesse Perry, and Bueford Johnson, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Jacob Terrell, Washington; Mrs. Mamie Wood, Baltimore, and Miss Fanny Johnson, Brooklyn. One brother, Barger Johnson, Charles Town, W.Va., and two grandchildren also survive. Funeral arrangements will announced later. M. R. Etchison and Son, funeral directors.

The funeral of Albert James Johnson, colored, took place from the Asbury M. E. church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. J. E. Dotson, officiating. Fredericktonian lodge, A.F. and A.M. conducted services. Pallbearers were: Izaak King, Lee Whiten, Dr. Charles S. Brooks, Benjamin Murphy, William Summers and William Fletcher. Interment Fairview cemetery. M. R. Etchison and Son, funeral directors.
