STAHL - Henry W. Stahl a former resident of Mendota, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Best, at Geneva, Ill., Saturday, April 8th, 1905, being in the 93rd year of his age. He was born in Schoharie, N. Y., July 17, 1812, and was married there to Margaret Brown in 1834. The couple came to Earlville in 1862 and later to Mendota, the wife preceding him in death in the year 1904. Of twelve children only four survive them. Both Mr. and Mrs. Stahl were remarkable for their activity in old age, having kept a boarding house on North Main street in this city, when both were over eighty years of age. They were honest and upright-people whose memory deserves to be honored. The remains were brought to Mendota and laid to rest Monday, Rev. Allen officiating.
