CAMERON - Evelyn Dorothy Abel, 85, of the Pettibone Community, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 in a Temple hospital. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Johnny Kueker officiating. Burial followed in the Corinth Cemetery.

Mrs. Abel was born May 7, 1922 in the Seaton Community to Edward and Elsie (Schiller) Tomasek.

She married Albert Abel and he preceded her in death in 1982.

Mrs. Abel was the proprietor of the Swanky Franky Café and Dot's Beauty Shop in Buckholts. She was a member of the Buckholts Brethren Church where she was also a member of the Buckholts Brethren Christian Sisters.

Her daughter, Dottie Diane Coufal, and sisters, Martha Jones and Laverne Tomascik also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Albert Abel, Jr. of Ingleside; sister, Virginia Ezell of San Angelo; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
