Mrs. Gordon (Lorraine Belle) Nelson, 38, 9929 Beaver Valley Road, Belvidere, Ill., formerly of Albany, died at 9:15 p,m, Wednesday, May 23, 1979, in University Hospitals, Madison. She had been ill for the past six months.
Born in Brodhead March 8, 1941, she was the former Lorraine Nipple. Her parents were William and Mabel Vigdal Nipple.
A 1959 graduate of Albany High School, she married Gordon Nelson Dec. 17, 1960, in Albany. She had resided in Belvidere since 1962 and previously had lived in Capron, Ill. She was a data processer for Shappert Engineering Company in Belvidere.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belvidere and of St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband, Gordon; a son, Dean Nelson, at home, and five brothers, Wayne, Walter, Willis and Warren Nipple, all of Albany, and Garey Nipple, Janesville.
She was preceded in death by her mother on May 7, 1974; her father Jan. 13, 1976, and a sister, Audrey Nipple.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Belvidere, the Rev. Eugene Wille, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in Orfordville.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Whitbeck-Wheeler-Sabien Funeral Home, 203 Logan Ave., Belvidere. A memorial fund has been established for the National Leukemia Assn.
