Jonah Byron Bascle, passed away on December 02, 2014, at age of 28.
Jonah, was born in Boston Massachusetts, died of heart failure associated with Muscular Dystrophy. He is survived by his loving family including his mother, Sue Ford, his step-father Jimmy Ford, his brothers Jesse Bascle and Frankie Ford.
Jonah Bascle was a New Orleans comedian, mayoral candidate and disability activist who once halted traffic on the St. Charles Avenue streetcar line during a protest over its failure to accommodate people in wheelchairs.
Jonah, died on a Tuesday morning of heart failure at Ochsner Medical Center, in New Orleans Louisiana, on December 02, 2014.
Jonah Bascle attended high school at New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA), which boasts graduates from Harry Connick Jr. to a Marsalis brother. Jonah spent those days at Math and Science charter high school, before being transported to NOCCA after lunch to study visual art. He later switched to filmmaking.
“Jonah taught himself everything he could,” says Frankie Ford. “Near the end he got really into the cosmos, and learned everything about black holes, and Stephen Hawking.”
