Tilman E. Nipple, 83, Albany, died at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 1981, in St. Clare Hospital. Death resulted from a prolonged illness. He had been hospitalized since Oct. 10.
He was born in Arpin, Wis., March 21, 1898, to Abraham and Margaret Grangarde Nipple. He married Rachel Laughridge Aug. 27, 1926, in Albany. He had always lived in the Evansville and Albany area and was a retired farmer and carpenter.
Surviving are two sons, Donald of Argyle and Gordon of Evansville; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Lucille) Schneider, Juda, and Mrs. Virgil (Carol) Marshall, Cayuga, Ind.; 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a brother, John Nipple, Monroe, and two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Margaret) Laughridge, Albany, and Mrs. Ted (Anna) Luce, Prescott, Ariz.
His wife died in July of 1970. He was also preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Oscar, William, Lewis and Nels, and two sisters, Kate Garde and Sara Grangarde.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, in the Everson Funeral Home, Brodhead, the Rev. Nancy McClurg of the Albany Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in the Orfordville Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Everson Funeral Home, Brodhead today from 7 to 9 p.m.
