Donna J. Brand, 64 of Burke died Friday October 27, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family and friends an aided by Hospice of the North Country and her beloved friend Debbie Parnapy.
Born on Sept. 1, 1953 in Malone, NY she was the daughter of Robert and Lucille (Barnes) Nesbitt.
She was married to Daniel D Brand on Dec. 27, 1975 in Burke, NY by Calvin Johnston. He predeceased her on July 22, 2005.
For many years Donna was a stay at home mom until she was employed by Alice Hyde Medical Center in environmental services. For 15 year she very much enjoyed her job and loved her coworkers. She enjoyed NASCAR and Dale Jr. Her greatest enjoyment was her “sunshine,” her granddaughter Riley.
She is survived by a son, Don (Melissa) King of Burke; a daughter Tawnya (Chris) Kunkle of Rome, her father Robert (Marge) Nesbitt of Hastings; 4 brothers & sisters: Bob (Theresa) Nesbitt of Florida, Carol Stever of Rutland, Sharon Nesbitt of Watertown, Joe (Melissa) Nesbitt of West Monroe, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Donald Brand, Juneau, Alaska, Kathy Brand of Rochester, JoAnne (Brett) Hazen, of Burke, Mike Brand of Burke.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her mother Lucille, twin sister Diane, son Daniel Brand. There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at North Burke Cemetery on Thurs. Nov. 2 followed by a celebration of Donna’s life at Burke Fire Station.
