Edmund Grant Hepner was the son of Arthur Alden Hepner and Pluma Nash.

Ed was a thirty year veteran of the United States Air Force. He served in the Korean War, flying the Sabre Fighter f-86, receiving a Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross. He was Commander of the squadron at the Tulsa Air National Guard until 1968.
