Obituary of Annie Agnew
The passing of Annie “Betty” Beatrice (Clements) Agnew, wife of the late Andrew Agnew, occurred on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Nashwaak Villa. Born on July 17, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Alleyne and Gladys (Cowperthwaite) Clements. Betty was affiliated with St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping and flowers.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Hawkes and Susan Spinney (Bryan); her son, James E. Agnew (Jean); grandchildren, Debbi Kendall (Ron), Chris Spinney (Laurie), Krista Lucas (Issaac), Mike Spinney (Courtney), Stanley Hawkes and Becky McGeehan (Travis Sowers); eleven great grandchildren; sister, Joan Cameron (Cam); brother, Donald Clements; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Florence Smith and three brothers, Earle, Peter and Robert.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 11 am with Canon Bill MacMullin officiating. Interment will take place at Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation or Nashwaak Villa Building Fund.
