Bonnie Faye Hurd Whitaker of Warsaw, Indiana went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 4:14 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Miller's Merry Manor in Warsaw at the age of 78.

She was born on March 3, 1944 in Denver, Kentucky to Bethel (Hitchcock) Blair and Harlan Blair, Jr. Bonnie was married on December 20, 1964 to Jo Ed Hurd, they shared 38 years of marriage together before he passed away on February 4, 2003. Bonnie was blessed to share her life again with someone special and married Grover T. Whitaker on August 7, 2009. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2012.

Bonnie worked for many years in the assembly department at Controls in North Manchester, Indiana. Her real full-time job that she loved the most was simply being a mom, later in life she relished becoming a grandmother and great-grandmother multiple times. Bonnie was a Godly woman and loved the fellowship of her church family as a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County. She always enjoyed reading, especially the word of God, and the pages of her Bible felt the touch of her hands many times over the years. Bonnie had a servants heart and never knew a stranger, her home was always open to anyone to enjoy her hospitality. More than anything she loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and a friend to many. Bonnie would most want to be remembered for her steadfast faith in her Savior Jesus Christ and is now whole again in Heaven.

She leaves behind two daughters, Samantha (Terry) Bradford (Silver Lake, IN); Velia (Ray) Grosch (Rochester, IN); two sons, Christopher (Geri) Hurd (Warsaw, IN); Faron Hurd (Warsaw, IN); stepdaughter, Debra (William F.) Bleak (Ft. Wayne, IN); ten grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers, Jackie (Pat) Blair (Urbana, OH); Jimmy (Beulah) Blair (Urbana, OH); Timothy Blair (Urbana, OH); Jerry (Belinda) Blair (Martin, KY); David (Gladys) Blair (Denver, KY); five sisters, Jean (David) Spear (Urbana, OH); Janie Auxier (Hager Hill, KY); Tenia Ratliff (Denver, KY); Teresa Lynn (David) VanHoose (Denver, KY); Lisa Ann (Keith) Murry (Meally, KY); and a sister-in-law, Carol Blair (Urbana, OH). She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands, brother, Billy, one great-grandson, and two brothers-in-law, Leroy and Charlie.
