My Great Grandfather.

James was the fourth of six children born to William Houston Green & Delida "Lida" Webster.

His parents came from Christian County, Missouri area, traveled down through Oklahoma to Polk County, Texas. They then they came back up to Oklahoma for land.

The family lived in Payne County, Oklahoma for a short time then moved on to Beaver County, Oklahoma. The family remained in Beaver County from about 1905-1921.

After this, they moved on to Colorado were they remained for about 8 years. James's brother Edgar and his mother Lida died in Colorado during this time frame.

James was in Lakin, Kearney County, Kansas with his father and siblings by 1930. He was 28 Years old.

James was a great musician, he played the fiddle.

As well as helping on the farm, he traveled around and played music for a living, this is how he met Leata Belew, who was living in the neighboring county, Finney County Kansas.

James Green and Leata Belew had one child together, James Earl Green, who was born in Garden City, Finney County, Kansas in 1933.

He spent his later years in Sadelia, Pettis County, Missouri.

James was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather.
