"Howard, Colo., Feb. 3--The death of Mrs. Edna Rishell-Means occurred at her home here Monday morning, Jan. 31st. The deceased was born at Cortsville, Ohio, May 18, 1863. On Dec. 22, 1897 she was married to L.H. Mains, and their home has been at Howard continuously since. Three children were born to this union: Leander H. and Lewis Sanford, on Sept. 6th, 1898, and Harrison Vipond on Dec. 19th 1900. The three children all preceded their mother to the better land; Leander having died April 2, 1899; Lewis Sanford, April 10, 1899 and Harrison Vipond, April 11, 1906.
Mrs. Mains had been an invalid for fifteen years prior to her death, but was known by all as cheerful sufferer. She had been a church member from her early youth, and her faith in God, never waivered through her many years of suffering. She leaves one brother and two sisters to mourn her loss, but chief of all devoted husband who has faithfully provided for her and ministered to her every need during her invalidism. She was laid to rest beside her children in the Pleasant Valley cemetery. After a brief funeral service at the church, conducted by Rev. Jas. H. Harvey. The floral tributes were beautiful and the songs, rendered by the Misses Nimon and Hall were sweetly consoling. Our friend is gone but not forgotten."
