Verna Shipper
Services for Verna Shipper, 90, of the Hickory Grove community, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Muse Baptist Church with the Revs. Davy Hobson and Buddy Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Muse Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Shipper died Thursday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 11, 1911 in Grapeland to J.Y. and Fronie Smith Carnes.
Mrs. Shipper was a homemaker and a member of Muse Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Shipper, in 1985; and a son, Noyce Shipper in 1999.
Mrs. Shipper is survived by daughters, L. S. "Eloise" Bosworth of Houston and Jan Slough of Elkhart; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
