Davison G. Grove. 87, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Menno Haven. He was born Jan. 7, 1921 in Chambersburg, the son of the late Norman C. and Gail (Greenawalt) Grove. Davison earned his Bachelor's degree from Penn State, Masters from the University of Chicago and Doctorate from Cornell University. He served with the Army Air Corps until 1945. On Aug. 12, 1950, he married Margaret Corby. A life-long of First Lutheran Church, he was choir member, Sunday school teacher and church counselor. He spent thirty-three years teaching at Wilson College, where he became head of the Biology Department. A past president of Kiwanis (1968), he was also an active member of the Conococheague Audubon Society, enjoyed playing the piano and was an avid collector of insects, later donating a part of his collection to Wilson College. He is survived by his son, Alan (husband of Carol), Lancaster, PA; two daughters, Janet Grove, Frederick, MD; Susan (wife of Gary) Pfaff, Finksburg, MD; a grandson, Andrew Grove; granddaughters, Rebecca Grove, Chambersburg; Jordan and Reagn Pfaff, both of Finksburg, MD. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Grove (April 17, 2002) and brother Lewis Grove (Jan. 16, 1945). Funeral Services will be held 12:00 P.M. Friday, May 9, 2008, at the First Lutheran Church, Rev. Steve Dorsett officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will be 1:30 P.M. in Norland Cemetery.
