She was born March 9, 1919, in Bloomington, the daughter of Milford and Esther C. Johnson Rhymer.
Survivors include one sister, Bernice I. Campbell, River Grove, and one niece, Susan Campbell, also of River Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Phillip and Leslie Rhymer; and one sister, Rue M. Micklos.
Miss Rhymer received her Doctorate Degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana. She was a teacher in the field of microbiology.
The M.J. Rhymer family has donated 15 acres of land to Dry Grove Township for the M.J. Rhymer Nature Preserve.
