Mr. Carl Mathis age 86 of Mayfield passed away at 5:45 AM Monday July 20, 2020 at Mills Health & Rehab in Mayfield. He was a member of the High Point Baptist Church, retired from Turner Dairy and a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his wife- Sue Gilbert Mathis, one daughter- Jeana Mathis (Kelvin Pittman), Mayfield, One son- Ralph Mathis of Oregon, One stepson- Wayne Courtney of Mayfield, two brothers; Roy (Claire) Mathis, Conover, NC and Rex (Joyce) Mathis, Hickory, Seventeen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two step grandchildren, several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents- Basil & Irene Blalock Mathis, two daughters- Donna Walls and Carla Davis and two brothers- Harold Mathis and Johnny Mathis, two sisters; Dorothy Clinard and Joyce Guge. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday July 21, 2020 at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with Rev. Darrick Holloman officiating, burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery, friends may call after 11:00 AM Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield. Pallbearers will be Kelvin Pittman, Ronnie Gilbert, Kevin Gilbert, Joe Ellegood, Chris Courtney and Jonathan Grant
