Martha D. Alford, 79, Gadsden, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, died Sunday, March 16, 2008.
She is survived by her daughters, Angelina (Jack) Jenkins and Cynthia McClendon; and four grandchildren, Jared McClendon, Morgan Alford, Matthew Alford and Lauren Hardee. She also had one great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Bryant; brother, Billy Bryant; and son, Clark Alford.
She was a lifelong native of Gadsden. She attended church at Word Alive International Outreach. She was a devoted Christian, enthusiastic in her worship, always praying for the needs of others.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2008 at Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home. Pastor Billy Byrd and Pastor Ken Maddox will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the residence and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home is in charge.
