Soon after his second marriage, Mr. Wolcott gave up mercantile business and settled down in Fishkill, and was a resident of the town for forty years, residing all these years in the beautiful home where he died, which was formerly owned by members of the Rankin family.
Mr. Wolcott was a large owner of real estate, and owned several farms as well as village property. He was interested in several corporations in New York, in some of which he held office, and was a member of the board of directors of the New York rubber works, with factory at Wiccopee. At the death of the late Wm S. Verplanck, Mr. Wolcott was elected vice-president of the First National Bank of Fishkill Landing, which he held up to the time of his death, and was a director in the bank for years previous to his election as vice-president. The deceased leaves one son, Henry G. Wolcott, and two daughters.
