Martha Jean Blackwell Goddard, 76 of Tazewell, VA passed away Monday July 20, 2020 at her home. Born April 12, 1944 in Tazewell, VA she was a daughter of the late Albert L. and Pansy Virginia Wilson Blackwell. She attended Tazewell Christian Church. Martha was very personable, she was just like the energizer bunny or a hummingbird-she couldn’t be turned off! She was a mother to everyone, enjoyed keeping up with everyone, had a great sense of humor, and was an ultimate animal lover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Josephine F. “Josie” Blackwell; brothers, Gentry and Theryl Blackwell. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Martha is survived by her husband of forty eight years to whom she was deeply devoted, Jim Goddard and sister in law who was like her sister, Elby Blackwell of Tazewell, VA.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 till 2 PM Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Grandview Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel at Bluefield, VA where cryptside services will be conducted at 2 PM with Pastors Chris White and Danny Whitt officiating.
