John Bush was a son of Justus Bosch (Bush) and Anne Smith. He was baptized on 29 June 1712 in Manhattan

Father of Bartholomew Bush, Joseph Bush, Stephen Bush (m. Anna Reynolds), Nancy Bush and Sarah Bush (m. Ezra Reynolds).

John Bush was presumably buried in the family cemetery (Bush Family Burial Ground at Horseneck). Unidentified remains from the Bush Vault at Horseneck were removed to the Bush plot in Putnam Cemetery in 1894.
