Mrs. Dolly Fetnie Garman, formerly a resident of Waverly, and widow of William H. Garman, died Monday at 10:45 p.m., at the Convalescent home in Pine Bluff, Ark., following an illness of several months, being 77 years of age.
Mrs. Garman became ill in October and received treatment at the Davis hospital several months prior to being removed to the Convalescent home.
She was born in Fountain Run, Ky., on April 6, 1874, a daughter of Charley and Camilla Steenbergen.
Mrs. Garman spent her girlhood in her native city, where she received her education. She was later married to Mr. Garman in Fountain Fun, and they resided there for 15 years before moving to Waverly , Ill.
Following the death of Mr. Garman in 1927, Mrs. Garman went to Pine Bluff to make her home with her sons. She was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include five sons, C. E. and W. C. Garman of Pine Bluff, Charles E., Edward and Edwin Garman of Chicago; a brother, Hilry Steenbergen and a sister, Miss Lena Steenbergen of Scottsville, Ky.; nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and other relatives.
The remains arrived in Waverly Wednesday afternoon and were taken to the Neece Funeral Home, where funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, Rev. W. A. Ogden, pastor of the Baptist church officiating.
Burial was in East cemetery, Waverly.
