Charles Eugene “Bear” Vance III, of Morgantown, formerly of Lenore, W.Va., passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at his home. He was born Sept. 26, 1982, at South Williamson, Ky., a son of Charles Eugene (Jackie) Vance of Chattaroy, W.Va., and Kimberly (Charles Hales) Vance of Durham, N.C.

Bear was a 2001 graduate of Tug Valley High School, where he played sports. He was currently a student at WVU, majoring in electrical engineering.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancee, Ashley Rae Prudnick; a brother, Donald Joseph Vance of Durham, N.C., and special uncles, Donald and Dennis Hall.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Dorothy Musick Hall, and Charlie and Lillie Newsome Vance.

Visitation will be at Chafin Funeral Home, Delbarton, from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday evening, with funeral services at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, with evangelist Ernest Napier officiating. Burial will follow in Lenore Memorial Gardens, Lenore, W.Va.

Pallbearers will be Chris Curry, Paul Dempsey, Seth Powers, Mike Mullins, Kevin Green, Jeff Varney and Chris Williamson.
