Funeral services for H. Carl Hammond, 68, of Winona were held at the Winona First Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Monday, July 31 with the Rev. Jerry Mixon and the Rev. Harold Richardson officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Hammond, a real estate developer, died on Saturday, July 29, 1989 at the Tyler Homes Hospital following a heart attack.
Mr. Hammond was prominent in business in the Winona area. He was a member and past president of the Winona Lions Club. He served as a director of the Montgomery County Bank and was a member of the American Legion, the V.F.W. and the D.A.V. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Winona First Baptist Church.
Mr. Hammond is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Hammond of Winona; one daughter, Mrs. Anne Austin of Winona; two sons, Harry C. Hammond of Winona and Ronald Louis Hammond of Grenada; one brother, Arnold T. Hammond of Jackson; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mike Branch, Bruce Branch, Rodney Mortimer, Greg Mullen, Bobby Baskin, Sam Pitner, Roger Mason and Buddy Pender. Lee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
