J.W. ANGLETON RETIRED FARMER DIES AT 91
James William Angleton, 91, Rural Route 3, Taylorville, died at 11:30 o'clock Sunday night in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital. He entered the hospital Friday.
Mr. Angleton was a retired farmer, residing in this community most of his lifetime. He had served as assessor, constable, a director of the school board, and as township commissioner of highways.
He was born January 23, 1865 at Boone County, Ky., a son of James W. and Nancy Mason Angleton. He married Maggie Dell Alexander July 3, 1887 at the Sharpsburg Church, who preceded him in death in 1934.
Surviving are the following children, Miss Amy Angleton and Miss Gladys Angleton of Taylorville; W. B. Angleton, Rural Route, Taylorville; James Hugh Angleton, Rome, Italy; Blanche Miller, Albany, N.Y.; Keith Angleton, Riggins, Idaho, and Kent Angleton of St. Louis, Mo. Three children preceded him in death. He also leaves three half-brothers, Virgil Bearden, Joliet; Hiram Bearden, Omak, Wash. and Burley Bearden, Alliance, Nebr.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Shafer funeral home. Rev. O. D. Drake, pastor of the First Methodist church will officiate. Burial will be in the Edinburg cememtery.
