Charlotte D. Raper, 78 Died in Des Moines

Charlotte D. Raper died Friday, April 26, 1991, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was 78 years old. At her request, there will be no service.

Her family moved to Cass County when she was three years old. She attended rural elementary school and graduated from Anita High School, where she was active in sports and other school activities.

On December 24, 1935, she was married to Norwyn B. Raper of Fontanelle. They farmed and lived in the Canby area until they retired and moved to Adair in 1988.

Charlotte enjoyed her family, friends, pets, working with crafts, sewing and gardening. She was a member of the Canby Friends Church and was a longtime member of the Canby Ladies Aid.

Charlotte is survived by her husband Norwyn, son Larry Raper of Fontanelle; a brother, Merle Moore and wife Ruth of Adair; a sister, Betty Betts and husband Dean of Casey; sister, Shirley Moore of Adair; three grandchildren, Jolene Funke (sic) and Tom of Des Moines, Cindy Baldogo and husband Al of Fontanelle, Rusty Raper and wife Joni of Fontanelle; seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends and neighbors.
