Emilie (Amalie) Louise Quast was born in Prussia (Germany) She married Wilhelm F. Ristau and immigrated to the United States in either 1873 or 1874. They first came to Milwaukee, Milwaukee Wisconsin and then in 1879 homesteaded in Otter Creek, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin; just a few miles north of Osseo, Wisconsin.
