Bellechester -- Nicholas E. Acquard, 80, lifetime resident of the Bellechester area, died Thursday at the Buena Vista Nursing Home in Wabasha. He was born in Bellechester Oct. 6, 1883 and married the former Christine Strauss Nov. 23, 1920. He was employed as a carpenter in this area. Survivors include his wife; one son, Richard of Mankato; two daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Isabelle) Atkinson of Zumbro Falls and Mrs. Lloyd (Angela) Majerus of Bellechester; one sister, Mrs. Howard Tether of Red Wing, and 16 grandchildren. One son, one daughter, two brothers, two sisters and a grandson preceded him in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bellechester, by the Rev. Donald Westhoff. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 9 p.m. Friday at the Acquard home. Friends may call at the Acquard home this evening and Saturday morning until the time of the services. The Ferrin-Sanford Funeral Home in Red Wing is in charge of arrangements.
