He was born August 12, 1905, in Sumner, a son of Andrew and Lena Howe Hampton. He was married Feb 25, 1947, to Rosalie E Gardner, who survives him.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs Bertha Eagleson of Lawrenceville and Mrs Lulie Brush of Bridgeport; and two brothers, Raymond Hampton and Herbert Hampton both of Sumner.
Mr. Hampton came to Lawrenceville in October 1971 from Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. where he had been employed as a maintenance man at Michigan Technical College. He was a Worl War II veteran and member of the United Methodist Church.
