John was born May 31, 1937 to the late Leo Daugherty and Gertrude (Ousley) Daugherty. On Sept. 13, 1986 he married Alberta Joan Duncan who survives.
Mr. Daugherty's passion was music and he was an avid steel guitar player. He was also the owner of the Rolla CB Shop for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanne Daugherty.
He will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes his wife Joan Daugherty of the home; two daughters, Debbie Foster and husband James of Red Oak, Texas, and Diana Phillips and husband Doug of Sanger, Texas, one stepdaughter, Teresa Murdie and husband James of Vichy, Missouri and five grandchildren, Cole Foster, Trenton Foster, Justin Bannister, Morgan Phillips and Cheyenne Murdie.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, 2007 at the Newburg Church of God with Rev. Larry Davis officiating.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla.
