Jean A. Cyr, 83
WORCESTER -- Jean A. (Salvatore) Cyr, 83, of 63 Prospect St., died Tuesday, May 22, at home after a short illness.
She leaves two sons, Robert C. Cyr of Jackson, N.H., and Paul L. Cyr of Worcester; a daughter, Leah DeLuca of Worcester; two brothers, Joseph Salvatore of Worcester and Clement Salvatore Jr. of Auburn; two sisters, Elizabeth Brandli and Mary Tangney, both of Worcester; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A son, Ernest D. Cyr, two daughters, Zita DeMarco and Carol Burns, and two brothers, Gregory and Carl Salvatore, predeceased her. She was born in Shrewsbury, daughter of Clement and Angelina (Izzi) Salvatore, and lived most of her life in Worcester.
Mrs. Cyr worked at General Electric, Ashland, retiring in 1977. She and one of her sons were instrumental in founding the Nordic Village Resort in Jackson, N.H. She was a life member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Church and its Golden Years Club.
The funeral will be held Friday, May 25, from Arthur S. Manzi & Son Funeral Home and Garden Chapel, 179 Shrewsbury St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will be at the family's convenience.
