Obituary of Theodore H. Tennant

Theodore Herold Tennant, better known as Teddy or Pappaw, went to be with the lord and his wife Pauline on the morning of Saturday, February 23, 2019. He was born in his beloved green hills of PA on July 6, 1926 to Earl and Bertha Tennant. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Pauline Phillips on June 20, 1947.

Ted graduated from Waynesburg High School in Waynesburg, PA in 1947 and attended Penn Commercial College. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1944 and served in the South Pacific during WWII until 1946 when he was honorably discharged. He was always extremely proud to have served his country.

He went to work at the Consolidated Gas Supply Corp. and moved his family to Auburn in 1959. In 1969 he was transferred to WV and remained employed there until 1979 when they moved back to Auburn to be near their daughters and grandchildren. While retired, Ted worked as a manager at South Field Apts., Skaneateles Penny Saver and Alco.

Ted was a proud member of Auburn United Methodist Church and served in many capacities since 1959. He was a member of F & AM Lodge 124 and Master of the Lodge three times in his 59 years of membership as well as serving as Grand Lodge Officer. He was also a member of the Shriners during that time.

He served on the board of directors at SCAT Van in Auburn for 23 years as a driver and van assistant. Ted was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan and rarely missed watching a game.

His greatest love and source of pride were his two daughters, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. His greatest enjoyment came from attending his children's and grandchildren's many athletic, academic and musical events. He could be seen on the sideline of many soccer, basketball, lacrosse, football games and swim meets. As well as, school and piano concerts and Broadway shows. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his family and proudest of all of their accomplishments.

Ted was predeceased by his parents, his wife Pauline, his second wife Bonnie Lawton, seven brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his brother Daniel C. Tennant (Mary) and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his two daughters: Brenda Reixach (Armand) and Peggy Lattimore, as well as his six grandchildren: Robert Genant (Jennifer), Romy Bigger (Shannon), Timothy Lattimore, Todd Lattimore (Brian Merrill), Judson Lattimore (Bonnie), Kelly Springer (Dr. Gregory Ripich).
