She was injured July 5, when the east bound National Limited of the Baltimore and Ohio railroad struck the automobile in which she and her baby son and mother-in-law, Mrs. Verna Burgett were riding, at a crossing two miles east of Sumner.
Death resulted from an infection from a leg wound suffered in the accident.
Mrs. Burgett at the time of the accident was believed the least injured. However, she suffered a deep cut on one leg which developed infection and her condition became serious a few days before death.
She was born near Carlisle, the daughter of Albert and and Phoebe Squires.
She is survived by the husband, Maurice Burgett, who is somewhere in the South Pacific; a son, David; her mother, Mrs.
Elinor -----, of Sumner; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel McCammon; Mrs. Clara Anderson, and Mrs Lydia McCammon; and three brothers, Pfc, George Edward Squires, with the U. S. Marines somewhere in the South Pacific, and ----- and John G. Squires.
Funeral services were held with burial in the Sumner cemetery.
