Paul was a fireman for the Boston Fire Department based at the West Roxbury Centre Street fire station. He died in the line of duty. He was raised in Dedham, the oldest of six children. After graduating from high school, he served in the United States Navy. He married his wife, Anne, in 1973 and worked as an electrician until joining the Boston fire department in 1993, at the age of 43. He was following in the footsteps of other family members who were in public service. His father and uncle were both Boston Police detectives and a sister was a State Police Officer. Paul was a simple man, who enjoyed gardening, walking on the beach, spending time with his family and was called upon to fix just about anything, from electrical problems to dinner. He is survived by his wife; children; mother; and siblings.
