Anthony George Emmert (Tony) was born to George and Margaret Emmert in 1944 in Sebastopol, California. Butch, as he was called as a kid, was a fun loving youngster who enjoyed going to Sunday school, being Cub Scouts, fishing and playing with his friends. In the summers between school sessions, he would have odd jobs such as picking up apples or blueberries with all of the other neighborhood kids he grew up with in Forestville, California. In high school he showed a talent for building things and took many industrial arts classes. He filled our childhood home with bookcases and tables. After graduating from Analy High School, he married his high school sweetheart, Jeannie Harrison and they had three children, Mike, Shelley and Tera (Lopez). He adopted Tommy when he was married to Sherrie (Tony's second wife) who preceded him in death. Tony has had several occupations, including working in construction and owning a drinking establishment in Santa Rosa, California. He spent most of his working years traveling with the railroad as an iron worker. He married his dear late wife, Linda, the greatest love of his life. They moved to Middletown, New York for ten years and then they returned to the west coast, settling in Clearlake, CA, so that they could be closer to their children and grandchildren. After Linda's death, Tony remained in Clearlake. The happiest years of his life were with Linda. Tony missed Linda tremendously after her passing and he is with her now. He was well liked for his quick smiles and he made many friends at the Clear Lake Senior Center, and in the senior apartment complex where he last lived. In recent years he found peace and comfort in God at the First Assembly of God Church, where he was baptized a few months before he died.
