Ollie Frances Taylor Pendley, age 90, of Lithia Springs, GA, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020. She was born on February 13, 1930 in Baldwyn, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Wiley Odon Taylor and the late Minnie Lee Rutherford Taylor. She owned Ollie’s Beauty Shop in Lithia Springs for many years. Ollie was the first cosmetology teacher at Lithia Springs High School and was on the State Board of Cosmetology for 10 years. After retirement, she was an editor for Milady Publishing Company for the standard text book for cosmetology. She was a member of Austell Christian Church where she held many positions.
She is survived by her children: Anne Ashley (Rick), Elaine Pendley Sears (Paul), Kenneth Hollis Pendley (Fran), Vickie Fox (Richard), Kevin William Pendley (Marissa); grandchildren: Joshua Garner (Michelle), Malone Camp (Christy), Kenneth S. Pendley, Jessica Bryson (Dale), Sarah Pomeroy (Wes), Allen Fox (Bethany) Cecelia Pendley, William Pendley, Caroline Pendley; great grandchildren: Max Camp, Colin Camp, Ezra Pomeroy, David Fox, Mary Claire Fox, Aria Pomeroy; sister: Mittie Ree Moreland; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ollie was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis William Pendley; 5 sisters and 2 brothers.The family will receive friends at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel on Sunday, August 02, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A funeral will be held in the Chapel of the funeral home at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 03, 2020 with Minister Clay Henry officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, family ask that donations be made to Austell Christian Church, 5624 Edith Street or P. O. Box 649, Austell, Georgia, 30106., 770-944-3341.
