Visitation will be on Monday, Jan. 15, at First Baptist Church of Houma in Gray, from 9 a.m. until service time. Funeral services will begin after visitation starting at 11 a.m. Burial will follow services in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Ruth is survived by her son, Shelly "Sno" Hebert and wife, Terrie; daughters, Benita H. Grabert and husband, Dale, Melodie "Mel" Gilbert and husband, Butch, Sophie H. Guidry and husband, Lawrence "J-Boy"; sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Hebert, Shirley L. Allemand, Lillie L. Allemand; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Shirley "Shelly" H. Hebert; parents, Henri J. Lirette and Lily L. Lirette; brothers, Herbert Lirette, Paul Lirette, Ralph Lirette and Avery Lirette; sisters, Sophie L. Bent, Ella L. Ford, Pearl L. Duplantis, Bella L. Deroche and Grace L. Zeringue.
Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved dancing with her husband, flowers, fishing, cooking for her family and friends and playing cards with her friends.
She loved her family, friends and life in general and was loved by all who met her. If you met her you became her friend.
Ruth was an amazing loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She would always extend her affection over others and never knew a stranger.
Ruth's generosity was astonishing. Those who knew her will never forget her.
