She attended schools in Oklahoma and lived on the farm until she was twenty one years of age. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at age twelve during some special meetings in her home church, Zoar Mennonite Church. On December 1, 1940, she was married to Melvin Jones. She supported her husband in his work at Back to the Bible Broadcast, and was involved in the First Evangelical Free Church and Old Cheney Alliance Church until just a few years before her death.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Charles Nickel of Springfield, Mo., Charlene and Virgil Schultz of Nelson, Marilee McPherson of Lincoln, one son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Helen Jones, of Niles, Mich., 17 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty five years, Melvin Jones, one infant granddaughter, four sisters, one brother, four brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Evangelical Free Church of Lincoln. Visitation with the family will be at the Butherus, Maser, & Love Funeral Home on Friday, March 15, from 6 – 9 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Prison Fellowship, the First Evangelical Free Church, or to the family to be used for Bible distribution.
