Pauline Ada Heintzman, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away early Sunday morning, August 2, 2020 at The Welty Home in Wheeling, WV. Pauline was born October 19, 1918 in Sistersville, Tyler County, WV the daughter of the late John Henry Heintzman and Daisy Dean (VanCamp) Heintzman. A lifelong resident of WV, her home was in Bethlehem, Ohio County, WV for many years. Pauline began her working career as a ticket-seller at the Rex Theater in downtown Wheeling. She worked as a IBM Keypunch Operator and then retired as a Computer Systems Supervisor. Her many years of experience working in computing inspired her son, Terry, to enter the same field. Until Covid-19 came along, she and former co-workers gathered for monthly luncheons. Pauline was very active. She had been an avid golfer, loved traveling, and usually walked 1-2 miles each day until the nursing home lockdown. Married to her 1st husband, James “Jimmer” Alexander Brandon for 50 years, he preceded her in death in 1989. She and her 2nd husband, Alfred “Al” Lawrence Smith were married for 4 years when he passed on in 2012. Survived by her only son, J Terrill “Terry” Brandon (Anna). 1 Grandson, Eric Brandon (Linda) and 1 Granddaughter, with whom she was very close, Cheri Tabor (Noel). 4 Great-Grandchildren: Devon Mello (Brian); Damon Domenici; Shayla Riley; and Lesley Maynor. 2 Great-Great Granddaughters: Ada and Edie Mello. 1 Nephew, William “Bill” Watkins (Moe). Also survived by a Stepdaughter, Barbara Ann Neiland (Bob). “She was a sweetie”, says Barb. Deceased: 2 Brothers: Ross Allen (Frances) and Herman Willard (Cora) Heintzman. 3 Sisters: Lucy Zelma Rathbun (Elmer); Grace Virginia Schnelle (Charlie) and Leota Bell Watkins (Cecil).
