Soon after her birth, she was adopted by John and Esther Schliep and was given the name, Evelyn Ann Schliep. Evelyn was baptized and confirmed at St. Helena's Catholic Church in Ellendale, ND. She attended a one-room school house in Brown County, SD, and graduated from Forbes (ND) High School in 1965.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, L. Lee Alger; son, Scott and his wife Ann of Watertown, MN (Ryne and fiancé, Kaylee, and Riley); son, Steve and his wife Chelsea, of St. Peter (Signe and Isaac); daughter, Ann and her husband Brian, of St. Peter (Ian, Reid, Sean and Marie). Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, John and Esther Schliep and grandson, Elliott (Ann and Brian).
