One of several children of Jeptha, II and Lydia (Dunham) Beebe. His birth year of 1840 is based on Census and Army records. He may have been married to a woman named Mary.

He enlisted in the Union Army on August 23, 1862 in his home town of Lyndon, New York. After thirty days of training he was mustered into Company D, 145th New York Infantry Regiment on September 24, 1862. He was Killed in Action on March 3, 1863 at Chancellorsville, VA.

He is often confused with Jeptha Beebe (1829-1907) and his wife, Mary (Coffman) Beebe (1834-1909). But they are definatly two different people.

His body was either destroyed in battle or lost after burial.
