Orville M. Berringer, 63 of Sykesville, died unexpectedly Friday, March 28, 1969, in Tallahassee, Fla., where he had been visiting a son for the past several weeks.
A son of George and Grace Kinnan Berringer, he was born Feb. 8, 1906, in Lovejoy.
Mr. Berringer had been a resident of Sykesville for the past 22 years, prior to that residing in Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Sykesville; Zaradatha Lodge 448 of the F and AM of Sharpsburg; Brady Grange, Sykesville Fire Dept. and Bricklayers Local No. 48. He was a bricklayer and a stone mason by profession.
Surviving are his wife, Anne Carney Berringer; two sons: Orville M, Jr., Tallahassee; Donald of Bacliff, Tex.; two daughters: Mrs. William (Linda) McCrea, Indiana; Mrs. Gary (Donna Jean) Gross of Braintree, Mass; his mother, Commodore; and the following brothers and sisters: Doyle and Mrs. August Lundberg, both of Commodore; Lee of Rahway, N.J.; Wayne of Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Fred Douglass of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Clinton Pease of Indiana.
Friends may call at the Paul A. Welton Funeral Home in DuBois where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. John T. Cunningham will officiate and interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park in Sykesville.
